The End of the Line is Rae Desmond Jones’ final collection of poetry. Rae worked on this manuscript during the last year of his life and it’s publication is a fitting tribute to a great poet. As well as being on of Australia’s leading poets Rae was also a progressive mayor of Ashfield and fought hard to save the inner Sydney suburb of Sydney of Summer Hill from overdevelopment.
On reading the manuscript of Rae’s final collection Anthony Albanese commented:
